Scottish Society of Louisville

CELEBRATING THE SCOTTISH-AMERICAN HERITAGE OF KENTUCKIANA

HISTORY

The Scottish Society of Louisville was established in 1993 as a non-profit organization to enrich the cultural lives of members in the Kentuckiana area. It offers exposure to Scottish heritage and preserves, enhances and fosters pride in our Scottish ancestry. Since 1993, it has grown from 25 members to more than 150. Many of our local members have Scottish ancestry in their family background and are anxious to research their heritage, but Scottish ancestry is not a requirement to join. The Society quickly outgrew members' homes for meetings and found a new home at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. This too was outgrown and the society now meets at Strathmoor Presbyterian Church.

In addition to the many local and regional activities that it sponsors, the Society is also a member of World Communities in Louisville and has national and international affiliations with other Scottish organizations.

The Scottish Society of Louisville is a nonsectarian organization. There is no religious affiliation.

Please visit the membership page to learn more about your role as a member, events and programs, yearly dues and the time and date of monthly meetings.
