Our February Meeting showcased two young Irish Step Dancers from McClanahan's School of Irish Dance in Louisville, Chauncey Olsen, 21 years old and Avalon Sutherland, 20 years old, who will be on their way to Glasgow, Scotland this summer to compete in the Irish Step Dance World Championships. The dancers, and along with their instructor, Heather McClanahan Ackerman, shared some of their dances and answered questions from our membership! 50/50 Raffle is gearing up for 2010!

The Society is holding a 50/50 Raffle with the next drawing to be held at the June 2010 meeting. Half of the money collected will go to the Society and the other half will go to the lucky winner whose name is drawn. Tickets cost one dollar each, or you can buy six tickets for five dollars!

If you are unable to buy tickets at our meetings, you can buy them by mail. Just send a check along with your Phone Number to:

Congratulations, Laura Doll! She and other members of her pipe band, City of Washington, will play for President Obama on St. Patrick's Day! We are all so very excited about your participating in this event, Laura, and all of us look forward to your sharing your experience!

Mark your calendars to attend the March meeting to vote on individuals to fill Commissioner Positions. Please consider the slate of nominees below and remember, just prior to the March vote, the name of a Society Member interested in any of the open positions may be added to the slate!
